Dream!

Hello World!
It has been so long since I have written. Life has just kept me busy. So many things have happened and I have so many thought in my mind so what do I want to talk about today. Lately I have been reading a lot on the Dream Act. Not only have I been reading these things but I have been in the middle of all of it. Some of my friends will be affect by the Dream Act. It is crazy how one bill can change so many students life's. here is a link to more information on the dream act. http://dreamact.info/
I wonder what will happen it is passes and how our economy will change due to letting some of these students work and go to school. I hope it passes so that college students can graduate and know that they can get a job in their field or be able to do what they want and not have a restrain on not doing what they want. Well that is all I got for now in regards to the Dream Act.

Latina

Hola!!
This weekend was an exciting and eventful one. I went to Destino Fall retreat for Texas college students. It was fun and exciting and we went to launch a new Destino movement at Texas State. We saw 31 people that weekend pray to receive Christ. Praise the Lord.
As I sit there in the audience and look around the room, I was excited to see Latinos praising the Lord. In fact seeing college students!!! Latinos are going to change the future of America. When I think back on why Destino was even made, I get excited. It is a place where we can be a family and embrace our culture all for the Lord. I like being a Latina. I love having a rich culture. I love enchiladas! My mom makes really good ones. Though one thing I wish is that I am a fluent speaker in Spanish. I can speak and carry a conversation but sometimes my Spanish is not so great..... sad day when that happens.
Do you ever think about your ethnicity? We ALL have one. What is it that you like about your culture? What is it that you wish you knew more about your culture or other cultures?
I love to know :)

Here am I, Send Me

Hello PEEPS!!!
I was re-inspired again on why I am here ministering to college students. I thought about the time the Lord called me to minister to the Latino community, it was Feb. 13, 2009. This was when I went to a Destino Conference as a student and the theme was Here am I, send me. That month I had also been studying the book of Isaiah. Also the full-time staff of Destino kept telling me about this internship I can do after college. So everything was just pointing to me on my decision. The verse “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:8, just kept popping into my head everyday. I do want to be a servant to the Lord and I want to be send out to my community to Reach Latino Leaders for Christ. So now here I am ministering to college students and following the plan he has for me. So now I ask you these questions.....Do you want to be used by the Lord? If he called you to go somewhere would you go? We all want to be used by God, but where is it that we are going to be used at.

“There is a God we want, and there is a God who is—and they are not the same God.
The turning point of our lives is when we stop seeking the God we want and start seeking the God who is.”

Reflecting on Life

Well Hello Friends,
I was sitting at my kitchen table surfing the internet for another part-time job, getting distracted by facebooking stalking my friends, and I started thinking about my life..... Wow that is a lot of thinking! I am 23 year old out of college and working part-time with a non-profit organization. I was just thinking about all the things I have done in the last 6 years, (I have been to 6 countries!!!!). I asked myself questions.. Did I accomplish what I wanted, would I like to go back to any specific time to have a redo, Did I make great connections with friends that I still have good relationships with, what country would I LIKE to visit next, what DID I learn in college, is Architecture still for me, What have I learned about God, What have I learned about myself? Oh the questions just keep coming... I am super thankful for all the things I have had the opportunity in doing these last 6 years.
As I think back 6 years ago I was a freshmen in college. Oh to be a freshmen again. I was asked what year would I like to go back to... I immediately answered my freshmen year because I was just out of high school no bills to pay and all I had to do is go to school and learn. No rent due, no phone bill...... just no bills. It was worry free time of the year... well worried about test if I had to cram at the last minute like most of us freshmen who didn't know how to study LOL. But oh man that was a fun year... playing random games in the dorm, making lots of friends, and I also got to help start a movement on campus called Destino. Oh it was fun!!! What fun things did you do your freshmen year of college?
Well, my life is full of exciting things and I am always up for whatever comes my way. I know that God has an amazing plan for my life and I am just following him. I will go where ever he sends me.
What are your plans for your life?
